Summer in the city means a free concert in Millennium Park. Wonderful music and wonderful architecture against a wonderful summer sky. At the end the lights are red, and you know you experienced beauty. This night there was a full chorus and orchestra for Schubert's Requiem and two modern works.
This morning I was in my alley and a large bird landed just behind my head, about 5 feet above and behind me. When I turned around, I expected a crow. Instead I was face to face with a hawk. By the time I thought to take a picture, it had flown to the roof of the Cove. Nature reclaims the city.
